I haven’t been here much, have I? I dove head first into my Kindle and have been reading non-stop. I’ve read 11.5 books since it arrived on January 23. Over 5 books a week is pretty good. I’ve caught up on several series that I haven’t gotten to in a while, and I’ve read Pride and Prejudice for the eleventy-eleventh time (my first Kindle download, of course).
I haven’t listened to my iPod or finished my book there. I will be doing that tomorrow while I dye a big batch of Stalwart Sock yarn, though. As much as I enjoy my audio books, reading is quieter and more relaxing. So much so that I’ve woken up in my reading chair clutching my Kindle a few times in the last two weeks.
Olympic Cast-On
I’ll be casting on for the Knitting Olympics tonight. My project is Sprossling by Anne Hanson using some orange/yellow Hedonist Sock yarn I dyed specifically for this sweater pattern.
I’m not concerned with completing the sweater in two weeks — I might but I probably won’t. I’m not much of one to knit on a deadline, really.
Sprossling will be the fourth red or orange sweater on the needles. I have Roast Carrots Backwards Cabled Pullover, Redwood Ultra Alpaca top down raglan, and bright red Oblique. I guess I’m done with blue and teal for a while, eh? There’s the orange Maplewing shawl in there too.
So that sums up my two weeks. Reading a lot and knitting a little bit.
Glad you reminded me about the Olympics – thank goodness its Friday. I’ll ignore wips (& the dishes) and cast on something too.
It was a very cool opening ceremony! I really liked the Celtic/punk tapdancing fiddlers, hehe.
