Ready for some geeky dyer tricks? Remember those green pans of wet yarn I showed off two weeks ago? Here they are dry and hanked up!

Yellow 1 – with my three blues. The yarn on the far right was the dye mixture (plus one other color I added later) that made my Dorothy’s Destiny color.

Yellow 2 – The yarn on the right I’m using for a slip stitch sock. More concentrated it’ll make a Christmas green, as is, Grasslands finally has a formula. The one on the far left will make a perfect “Hold the Pickle” color, mixed slighty stronger. It will also make a good bright yellowy olive. I’ll be doing “Hold the Pickle” soon. I’ve had lots of requests.

The hank on the far left was what I used to make Origanum, the dark oregano green. The middle one goes slightly bluer and may make a good pine green in strong concentration.
So here they are. Each group of yarns in each picture was made with the same yellow base dye and the three blues are the same from right to left. I had a blast doing it and now I need to figure out what to do with 9 different shades of green yarns. Heh. I’m embarssaed to list 8 hanks of green yarn in the shop at once…
The one that’s balled up is going to be socks soon. Dyer’s perk.
