Anne Hanson of Knitspot is running a Red Scarf Emergency KAL over on her Ravelry Group. It seems that the Red Scarf Project is falling far short of it’s goals this year, and Anne is getting folks together to knit scarves and donate them by December 15th. I have donated a $25 Gift Certificate to my shop as a prize drawing.

Link to the Red Scarf Project is here. For every $5 donation you get entered for a fiberly prize, and in Anne’s group, every completed scarf gets your name in the pot for a prize. I’ve donated a $25 gift certificate to Slackford Studio as a prize.
But it’s not about the prizes, it’s about the people who get the scarves. The scarves are donated to former foster children who have aged out of the program. It gives them a handmade gift, something they rarely receive. Check out the Red Scarf Project Website for more details.
I’m going to do this myself. I’ve got a Cascade Grande cabled scarf started and I’m digging it out of the UFO pile and will finish it up. Heh, I mean I’ll knit it, I only have about 8 inches knit on it already.
Let’s knit some red scarves!

Thanks for the post! I’m definitely going to check this out!
